Book Excerpt:
Real things started happening. No more ducking my head. No more playing the blame-game. That’s the problem being sober and taking life on without a drink in my hand. Don’t get me wrong. My drinking is not an excuse for who I’m not. But my NOT drinking is the only way I’ll find out who I was before taking that first drink. It was time for me to start doing sober what I always said I’d do drunk. All eyes were on me; mine are wide open.
REVIEW:
This book overall was good. It left me with mixed feelings due to how long it took me to start 'caring' about the characters and to want to turn the pages. However, once that beautiful thing happened the pages started turning really, really fast! The characters came alive once I got to the end of the second chapter so, I would say that if you find yourself not feeling it give it til at least the end of the second chapter. The scene descriptions were very well done and I felt like I was there seeing and experiencing what Lillian was feeling and seeing. I will be looking into other books by this author.
